Review: Rita Ora at the Isle of Wight Festival

Review: Rita Ora at the Isle of Wight Festival

The first day of a music festival is always full of high spirits and boundless energy – the perfect atmosphere for Rita Ora.

Her quirky style and big smile was embraced fully by the crowd, and her set was full of old Rita classics as well as some shiny new tracks fresh out of the recording studio.

Since 2012 Rita Ora has been a home grown pop princess and you could see the level of her success in the huge field of fans that had gathered to see their idol perform.

Her stage presence was electric, and her constant movement and hyperactive dance moves stoked up the atmosphere, spreading electricity across the festival. Her songs were left stuck in my head as they are full of catchy hooks and choruses.

She opened with her 2017 hit, Your Song, which reached No. 1 in the chat last June. She also played Poison, I Will Never Let You Down, R.I.P. and Hot Right Now, all of which also topped the chart in the UK.

Overall each song provided an upbeat tempo, which was thoroughly absorbed by the crowd and created the perfect soundtrack for a beautiful summer’s afternoon.
